Officers responded to the Subway on Northway Drive about 8 a.m. for a reported robbery, according to police spokeswoman Anita Shell. They found a 19-year-old woman, an employee, bleeding from her head, police said.
She told an officer a man pointed a gun at her and demanded money. Police say the suspect was wearing a new-looking blue ski jacket and pants, a mask, goggles and gloves.
The woman handed over cash and was forced into a back room, where the robber beat her in the head with the gun and kicked her in the head when she fell, police said.
Police described the robber as dark-skinned and of average build. He wore a new cobalt blue jacket with gray stripes on the sides and matching pants, police said. Police think the jacket and pants may have been stolen and are asking local retailers who sell similar outerwear if they've had recent thefts.
The victim was taken to a hospital with head lacerations and was expected to be released after treatment.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police at 786-8900 or report a tip anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 561-STOP.
A Subway on West Northern Lights Boulevard was robbed early the morning of Aug. 4. The suspect in that theft struck a male employee in the back of the head with a gun, police said.
