A 56-year-old Olympia man was hurt in a three-vehicle crash at 3:39 p.m. Wednesday at Steilacoom Road and state Route 510, according to the Washington State Patrol.

According to the State Patrol and Lacey Fire District 3:

A 1993 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Dennis Stevens, 56, of Olympia and a 2003 Freightliner semitrailer driven by Paul J. Lewis, 47, of Spanaway were stopped along the road, just west of SR 510, when the motorcycle was struck by an eastbound 2001 Honda Passport driven by Amy Karns, 38, of Lacey. The impact pushed the motorcycle into the semi.

Stevens suffered serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle; his motorcycle was totaled. Karns’ vehicle sustained about $3,500 in damage, and Lewis’s was not damaged.

The cause of the crash was inattentive driving; it’s not known whether alcohol or drugs were involved.
