Home sales fell 2.44 percent to 240 units from 246 units in the year ago period, the combined single-family residence and condominium data show. Median prices also fell 6 percent to $225,000 from $239,950. Although prices fell in the year-over-year August period, the decline was nowhere near the swoon experienced in Pierce County, which saw median prices fall 15 percent to $186,750.
Monthly home sales in Thurston County have failed to reach 300 units all year, the combined data show.
Pending sales rose 7.56 percent to 370 units from 344 units, while the total number of homes for sale fell 11 percent to 1,813 units from 2,046 units. New listings in August rose to 482 units from 478 units.
