MENS SOCCER: The Geoducks picked up their first win after being shut out in their first two matches with a 3-0 victory over Walla Walla. Jack Fortune, Corey Johnson and George Bundy each scored for Evergreen (1-2-0). Goalkeeper Mitch Treend picked up his first collegiate shutout.

WOMENS SOCCER: Evergreen evened its season record to 2-2-0 after doubling up George Fox for a 4-2 win. Senior Anastasia Daniels had two of the Geoducks four goals. The offensive output was the most goals scored in a game since they scored six against Warner Pacific on Oct. 7, 2006. It also was the first time since 2008 that Evergreen won back-to-back games.
Up next: at Eastern Washington, 4 p.m. Friday.
VOLLEYBALL: Evergreen were swept 3-0 in both matches last week against Lewis and Clark and Northwest University. The Geoducks (0-4) played their first two matches of the season with only six players because of injuries, but played with seven in their two most recent matches.

SAINT MARTIN'S UNIVERSITY
MENS SOCCER: Despite a second-half comeback, the Saints fell to Metro State, 3-2, at the SMU soccer field. SMU (1-2-0) trailed 3-0 at the half, but senior Xan Nixon had the Saints two second-half goals and two of the teams 13 second-half shots.
Up next: vs. Grand Canyon, 1 p.m. Tuesday.
WOMENS SOCCER: SMU (0-2-2) had two ties against Nebraska-Omaha, 1-1, and Northwest University, 2-2. Against Nebraska-Omaha, Hanna Massee tied the game at 2-2 for the Saints with three minutes left in regulation. Against Northwest, the Eagles grabbed a 2-0 halftime lead before second-half goals by SMUs Sammi Thompson and Nicole Nedervelt.
Up next: Montana State Billings, 2 p.m. Thursday; Northwest Nazarene, 12 p.m. Saturday.
VOLLEYBALL: The Saints split their matches in Alaska, defeating Alaska Fairbanks 3-0 before dropping a 3-0 set to Alaska Anchorage 3-0. SMU improved to 2-4 overall, and their two wins equaled the 2010 win mark. In the victory against Fairbanks, Kristyn Ross and Katy Ferguson led the attack with 13 and 11 kills,
respectively. Brianna Bautista had 29 digs and setter Cymbree Decosta dished out 36 assists.
