A Thurston County WorkSource hiring event is set for next week for Bath & Body Works, a business looking to hire up to 50 part-time sales associates.

The hiring event is 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 28 at Westfield Capital mall, 625 Black Lake Boulevard S.W., Olympia.

Those planning to attend are asked to fill out a job application before attending the hiring event. Applications can be found on the Bath & Body Works' website at www.bathandbodyworks.com or at the nearest WorkSource office. Thurston County WorkSource is at 1570 Irving St. S.W. Tumwater, WA 98512-6368.

Applicants also can include their resume, but it is not required.

KENNEWICK -- WorkSource Columbia Basin's annual agricultural job fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Kennewick office, 815 N. Kellogg St.

Employers will start recruiting for cherry harvest, food processing and corn, said area director Michelle Mann.

The job fair was moved from a weekday to Saturday because last year job seekers lined up out the front door to the street.

The Tri-Cities saw job growth in many industries, from construction to banking and financial services, in March, according to data released Tuesday by the state Employment Security Department.

But gains in sectors like hospitality, retail trade and education and health services weren't enough to make up for the recent dip in Hanford cleanup and construction jobs.
