Downtown business owner Sydney Hann is set to shift gears and convert vintage clothing store Balsie Birdwell into a store called Pop Shop.

Hann described Pop Shop as a trendy, affordable clothing store.

“The people have spoken,” she said. “They don’t want vintage, they want inexpensive, and who am I to argue?” Pop Shop is set to have its grand opening on Oct. 7, the same night as Arts Walk.

Hann owns three businesses downtown: Hot Toddy at 410 S. Capitol Way; Yolli Shoes at 106 Fourth Avenue East; and Balsie Birdwell – soon to be Pop Shop – at 528 Capitol Way S.

Her first business, Hot Toddy, also a clothing store, opened in 2006.
