Lots of live theater

When the leaves start to turn in South Sound, the live theater seasons pick up. This weekend, you can catch the Olympia Little Theater’s current production of “Bell, Book and Candle” in full swing. The play that inspired TV’s “Bewitched” sitcom runs through Oct. 9, with shows at 7:55 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 1:55 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $12 on Thursdays, and $14 Fridays-Sundays, and are available at Yenney Music, www.brownpapertickets.com   and 800-838-3006. Meanwhile, both Harlequin Productions and Capital Playhouse open shows on Thursday. Harlequin’s play is “The Love List,” one of its previous comedies remounted after a serious actor injury required them to postpone their planned production of “Cyrano de Bergerac.” It will run at 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays, Sept. 29-Oct. 22 at State Theater, 202 Fourth Ave. E., Olympia. Tickets are $31 at harlequinproductions.org or 360-786-0151. Capital Playhouse is opening “Always ... Patsy Cline,” a musical based on the true story of country singer Patsy Cline’s friendship with housewife Louise Seger. It will run Sept. 29-Oct. 16, with shows at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sunday. The theater is at 612 E. Fourth Ave., Olympia. Skookum shellfish

Join Capitol Land Trust for an all-you-caneat Shellfish Feast on Little Skookum Inlet. Curry mussels, barbecue oysters, clam sauté, raw oysters on the half-shell, fresh egg rolls – all brought to you by Taylor Shellfish and famed local chef Xinh Dwelley of Xinh’s Clam and Oyster House. Reservations are required for the festivities that run 1-4 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $45 per person, with proceeds benefitting Capitol Land Trust’s work conserving natural areas. Jazz at St. John’s

Jazz vocalist and pianist David Deacon Joyner and bassist Clipper Anderson kick off the 2011-12 St. John’s Concert Series with “Get Jazzed”, a program of intimate, elegant jazz, featuring original works by the artists as well as classic works of Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington, and other jazz greats. The concert begins at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 19th Avenue Southeast and Capitol Boulevard in Olympia. Admission is by donation, with free babysitting provided. An artist reception follows.

Country mashup

Little Creek Casino Resort will host two of the biggest names in country music this weekend: Merle Haggard, left, and Kris Kristofferson have teamed up for a 7 p.m. Saturday night concert at the casino, 91 W. state Route 108, Shelton. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the show that is for those 21 and older only. Tickets are $30-$50 and are available free of service charges at 360-432-7300, or at little-creek.com  .

It’s the water(shed)

The 22nd annual Nisqually Watershed Festival is the perfect opportunity to get out and see the newly restored Nisqually Delta at the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge. Festivities include music, food, guided walks, educational displays, crafts and lectures, and run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free. That day, all festival and refuge parking will be two miles up the hill at River Ridge High School, 320 River Ridge Drive S.E., off Martin Way. A free shuttle will run beginning at 7 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. The refuge is at Exit 114 off Interstate 5, just east of Lacey. 360-753-9467, nisquallyriver.org.

Fair tunes & chuckles

Hudson Bay Day

Relive early trader life at DuPont’s annual Hudson Bay Day and Salmon BBQ, with historical demonstrations, antique guns, live music, kids’ activities and a salmon dinner. 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.
