Design firm wins award for Evergreen's college activities bldg.

Design firm DLR Group received a "best in class" award for its work in renovating The Evergreen State College's college activities building.

The CAB is home to a cafe, the school's book store, radio station KAOS and The Cooper Point Journal, the student newspaper.

The Northern Pacific chapter of the International Interior Design Association honored DLR Group with two awards, including its work at Evergreen.

The $13.4 million, 98,000-square-foot renovation project at Evergreen was completed in September 2010 and currently is pursuing LEED certification.

DLR Group has offices throughout the country and in China.
