Olympia High is rolling into October.

Nate Slosson cored three touchdowns – two catching and another rushing – and the No. 6 Bears made quick work of Stadium, 55-10, in a Narrows League 4A game in Tacoma.

Olympia (6-0, 4-0) scored a season-high in points, and seems to be picking up steam with its showdown at Bellarmine Prep just two weeks away – Oct. 21.

On Friday night, the Bears’ first-team defense didn’t allow a touchdown at Stadium Bowl.

Quarterback Trevor Houser was 10-of-16 passing for 235 yards and threw touchdowns to three different receivers – Slosson, Alex Johnson and Zed Higgs. He also ran in for a 7-yard TD in the second quarter.

Spencer Killman had 105 yards on 10 carries and scored the Bears’ opening touchdown.

“It was good for our starters to go in and take care of business and let the young kids in the second half,” Olympia coach Bill Beattie said.

Timberline 48, at Yelm 13: Spencer Crump had a season-best four touchdowns, all in the first half, helping the Blazers to their second consecutive 3A Narrows League win at Yelm Stadium.

Timberline got another big game from Jordan Thompson, who had a punt return for a touchdown and a 35-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Chris MacNeil. Timberline’s largest lead was 48-7.

“We’re still getting things together,” Blazers coach Nick Mullen said. “Defensively, we’re starting to gel. Offensively, we’re right there.”

At Tumwater 33, Centralia 0: Taylor Wood took back a fumble 22 yards for a score, and Ronnie Hastie added touchdown runs of 1 and 19 yards as the No. 2 Thunderbirds rolled to an EvCo win at Tumwater Stadium – a week after having a bye week.

Tumwater moved back into first place in the league standings.

At Chehalis 33, Black Hills 0: The No. 9 Bearcats sent the Wolves tumbling out of first place in the Evergreen Conference, getting an 84-yard touchdown scamper from quarterback Mitch Gueller with 2:24 remaining in the first half to grab a 19-0 lead.

“That guy is pretty good,” Black Hills coach Jack Zilla said.

Black Hills forced a turnover – a Matt McDonald interception – on Chehalis’ second play from scrimmage at the Bearcats’ 35, but only gained 2 yards – and misfired on a fourth-and-8 play early in the game.

The Wolves, who had won three EvCo games in a row, had 58 yards in the first half.

North Thurston 37, at Bainbridge 24: The No. 4 Rams took advantage of a short field on numerous drives, and were ahead 30-3 at one point in the second half in a nonleague win.

At Tenino 44, Onalaska 8: Devante Harris tallied the Beavers’ first four touchdowns, including a 60-yard punt return with 10 seconds to go in the opening quarter, and totaled 239 all-purpose yards in a Southwest Washington 1A victory.
