Chinook Middle School students sat riveted to the projection screen as they watch archival news footage from the April 20,1999, Columbine High School shooting rampage during a Rachel’s Challenge motivational presentation Wednesday afternoon.

Started in her memory by her father, Darrell Scott, the nationwide project offers a message of anti-violence and positive change for teens. Rachel Scott was the first victim that day, and her brother Craig narrowly escaped death at the school.

Presenting the program was Daryn Jackson from Rachel’s Challenge, who also showed the video at Komachin Middle School and made an evening presentation for parents back at Chinook.
