Thurston County bankruptcy filings fall in 3Q

The pace of Thurston County bankruptcy filings eased in the third quarter, falling 7.71 percent from the same three-month period in 2010, according to data compiled by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Washington.

The county had 323 bankruptcy filings in the third quarter, down from 350 in the same period a year ago, the data show. Still, for the nine month period -- January through September -- Thurston County bankruptcy filings remained above last year's results.

Through Sept. 30, the county had 1,036 bankruptcy filings, up 7.46 percent from the 964 in the same nine-month period last year, the data show.
