Wednesday

Meet the Artist: Local artist and author Nikki McClure will read from her book “To Market, To Market” and discuss her experience in creating it at 7:30 p.m. at Olympia Timberland Library, 313 Eighth Ave. S.E. Farmers and artists featured in the book will be on hand to talk about their farms or studios and bring samples of their goods.

Friday-Saturday

Studentworks 19: A celebration of the creative process of producing a show where the students are the playwrights, actors, dancers, choreographers, directors, and even producers. River Ridge’s 19th annual Studentworks season kicks off at 7:30 p.m., at 350 River Ridge Drive S.E., Lacey. General admission is $7; students and seniors are $5. Studentworks continues Oct. 29, Nov. 3, 4, and 5.

Saturday

Emergency-preparedness expo: More than 50 information displays and emergency-supply vendors will be featured from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Saint Martin’s University Worthington Center, 5300 Pacific Ave. S.E., Lacey.

Fall Roundup Stamp Show: The show, sponsored by the Olympia Philatelic Society, will include dealers with stamps and covers featuring Washington postmarks and postal history from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Comfort Inn, 1620 74th Ave. S.W., Tumwater.

Sacred Music Concert: Members of the Saint Martin’s University Chorale will present their annual free public programs at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday at Saint Martin’s Abbey Church, 5000 Abbey Way S.E., Lacey. For additional information about the concerts, call Susan Leyster, director of campus ministry, 360-438-4581.

Monday

Breakfast with Cynthia Pratt at Pat’s Cafe: The Lacey councilwoman will meet with constituents from 7-8 a.m. at Pat’s Cafe, 6011 Pacific Ave. S.E., Lacey. City Manager Scott Spence will appear, and Together executive director Jim Cooper will discuss Initiative 1183.

Nov. 3, 4, and 5
