Road projects likely to slow traffic

HIGHWAYS: Overnight crews will be busy at several roadside spots across county, beyond

The following projects are expected to affect South Sound traffic in the coming week, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Olympia: Vegetation management will close the shoulders in both directions of Interstate 5 between Trosper and Marvin roads from 7 p.m.-5 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Grand Mound to Maytown: Wall and embankment construction and bridge-approach slab forming will close single and double lanes from 8 p.m.-5 a.m. today through Friday in both directions of I-5 from mileposts 87 to 89.

Lacey to Lakewood: Information technology systems installation will close shoulders in both directions of I-5 between state Route 510 and Thorne Lane from 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m. today through Thursday.

DuPont: A mobile vegetation-management operation is planned in both directions on I-5 between Mounts Road and DuPont-Steilacoom Road from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Eatonville: Shoulder repairs will close a lane of state Route 7 near Triangle Road from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. today. Shoulder repairs also will close a lane of state Route 161 near Clear Lake from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Oakville: A mobile guardrail-cleaning operation is planned from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in both directions of U.S. 12 near the Black River Bridge.

Montesano: Bridge maintenance will close a lane of state Route 107 near the Chehalis River Slough from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. today through Wednesday.
