Gov. Chris Gregoire is remembering state Sen. Scott White as a serious worker who never took himself too seriously.

Gregoire said at a memorial service Sunday that everyone knows White could have eventually served in Congress or as governor.

White died two weeks ago because of a cardiac issue. He represented the state’s 46th District, covering northern parts of Seattle. He is survived by his wife and two children.
