We must promote the arts

Thank you, thank you, thank you for putting the Timberland High School stagecraft class on the front page of a recent Olympian. It is so nice to see theater and the arts recognized as valuable endeavors, especially as The Olympian has entire pages devoted to local sports.

Studies have shown that classes in the arts – drama, music, dance – are very important in our children’s education. We sometimes forget this fact.

As a community we are so fortunate to have the opportunity to see great theater, symphony orchestra, choir concerts and dance. It is important to support the arts in Olympia
