A reception for retiring Olympia School Board member Carolyn Barclift will be held at 6 p.m. today at Capital High School commons, 2707 Conger Ave. N.W., Olympia.

Music and refreshments will be provided.

Barclift represents Director District 4, and has served on the School Board for 12 years.

Following the reception, at 6:30 p.m., the Olympia School Board will hold its regular meeting at Capital High School.

Agenda items include a resolution that would allow the district to apply for an energy grant offered by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, discussion of the Washington State School Directors’ Association conference Nov. 17-20 in Bellevue, a report on the new format of summer school and a presentation on Capital High School’s structural repairs and the work that occurred as a result of the roof collapse in December 2008.

District officials also will provide background on Gov. Gregoire’s proposed operating budget and how it could impact the Olympia School District.
