Army identifies four who died in JBLM helicopter crash

One female and three male Army aviators were identified this morning as the four Joint Base Lewis-McChord soldiers who were killed Monday during a routine night training exercise involving two OH-58 Kiowa helicopters over the base.

The dead, according an Army news release, were:

* Capt. Anne M. Montgomery, 25. The North Dakota native had served on active duty since August 2008 and arrived for duty at Lewis-McChord in December 2010. A 2008 graduate of the United States Military Academy, she had not deployed overseas.

* Chief Warrant Officer Two Lucas Daniel Sigfrid, 32. The Alabama native had served on active duty since May 2008 and arrived for duty at the local base in January 2011. He was commissioned a Warrant Officer in 2008, and had not deployed overseas.

* Chief Warrant Officer Three Joseph S. Satterfield, 32. The Alaska native had served on active duty since September 1997 and arrived for duty at Lewis-McChord in December 2009. Commissioned a Warrant Officer in 2002, he had assignments in Korea and at Fort Campbell, Ky. He deployed to Iraq once, and to Afghanistan once, and received multiple honors.

* Chief Warrant Officer Three Frank A. Buoniconti, 36. The Colorado native had served on active duty since July 1994, and arrived for duty at the local base early last month. Buoniconti was commissioned a Warrant Officer in 2003, and since has had assignments at Fort Bragg, N.C., and the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, Calif. He deployed to Iraq twice, and Afghanistan twice, and had received multiple awards including the Distinguished Flying Cross.
