Food industry group names Kevin Stormans Grocer of the Year

The Washington Food Industry Association has named Kevin Stormans of Stormans Inc., which operates the Ralph's and Bayview Thriftway stores in Olympia, as its 2011 Grocer of the Year.

The WFIA had the following to say about Kevin Stormans:

"He has also been a long time leader, board member and key participant in Associated Grocers, Unified Grocers and Northwest Grocers and he’s always willing to share with other retailers his best practices in training, technology, programs and new and innovative industry ideas. Kevin has also received numerous charitable awards from his local community including the Thurston County Food Bank and Olympia Downtown Association."

Other award winners as chosen by the WFIA:

-2011 Vendor of the Year: Greg Miller, area vice president of Supervalu in Tacoma.

-2011 Keystone award for excellence in government affairs: State Rep. JT Wilcox of Wilcox Farms of Roy.
