“This is a horrible situation if true,” Thurston County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Mark Thompson told a judge during the bail hearing.
The man’s Seattle attorney, Norman Partington, said his client denies the charges against him.
According to court papers:
Sheriff’s deputies dispatched Saturday to a domestic disturbance in Rochester were met by the 16-year-old, who said she had been dating the 20-year-old man for several months.
She told deputies the two had a dispute earlier that day, just before he drove her to work and again after she returned to his home after he picked her up from work.
She said that during the dispute he choked and later sexually assaulted her. Later, she said, they drove around in his car before returning to his residence.
“At this time, the defendant slapped her and told her that if she called the police he would kill her and her whole family,” according to court papers.
The deputy noticed “numerous injuries, bruises and scratches on her left arm, redness around her left eye and cheek,” according to documents.
The girl was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital for a sexual assault exam.
The boyfriend was not located by deputies until Tuesday, when he was arrested without incident.
