South Sound unemployment rates still falling

South Sound unemployment rates continued to fall in November, down to 7.5 percent in Thurston County and 8.8 percent in Pierce County, according to the state Employment Security Department.

Thurston County's jobless rate – county unemployment rates are not seasonally adjusted – fell to 7.5 percent in November from 7.8 percent in October and Pierce County's jobless rate fell to 8.8 percent last month from 9.1 percent in October, the data show.

Seasonally adjusted statewide unemployment also showed improvement in November, falling to 8.7 percent from 9.1 percent in the same period.

Regional jobless rates for November:

-Thurston County: 7.5 percent.

-King County: 7.6 percent.

-Pierce County: 8.8 percent.

-Mason County: 9.7 percent.

-Lewis County: 12.2 percent.

-Grays Harbor County: 12.8 percent.
