Detectives with the Olympia Police Department arrested two men on suspicion of first-degree robbery while armed with a deadly weapon and first-degree assault while armed with a deadly weapon as a result of an investigation into the stabbing.
The investigation began about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, when the stabbing victim called 911 from the area of Ralph’s Thriftway on Fourth Avenue. Detectives were able to determine that the victim had been stabbed at another location, an apartment in the 700 block of Boulevard Road.
Olympia police Sgt. Aaron Jelcick said Monday that the stab wound was not life-threatening. A police report noted that the wound just missed the man’s carotid artery.
He was treated and released from an area hospital.
According to court papers:
The man had gone to the Boulevard Road address in an attempt to recover heroin and cash that had been stolen from a drug dealer that afternoon.
The drug dealer was robbed at the residence by two men, including one who was wielding a replica firearm.
During an altercation, one of the suspects wrestled with the man while the other one stabbed him in the neck.
Two men at the residence were arrested; one of them admitted to the stabbing.
Jelcick said Monday that detectives were still investigating the incident.
