With weekend tournament canceled, River Ridge wrestling team helps clean up debris for neighbors

• Published January 23, 2012

With last week's storms wiping out all of high school sports in South Sound -- including Saturday's wrestling tournament at River Ridge High School -- members of River Ridge's wrestling team helped out their Lacey neighbors over the weekend to help clean up debris and damage left behind from the record-breaking snowfall, freezing rain and ice.

The Hawks' annual wrestling tournament was canceled because the high school was without power.

Olympian education reporter Lisa Pemberton caught up with members of the River Ridge wrestling team Sunday at the Capitol City Golf Club Estates off Yelm Highway and wrote this story that appeared in today's (Monday's) Olympian.
