Time to implement Initiative 1163

A s our lawmakers wrap up the early stages of the 2012 session I am continually amazed by the actions of a few wayward legislators. Certain members think they know better than voters and are trying to repeal a popular initiative that has been passed twice in the last three years. Initiative 1163 protects seniors and people with disabilities by increasing caregiver training and requiring federal background checks. 1163 also saves money by enabling folks to stay in their homes versus having to move into expensive nursing homes. These lawmakers need to listen to the will of the people and implement this important initiative.
