  * 1971 -- The Davis boys basketball team pulled an unlikely upset of top-ranked Richland, recording a 57-55 win in Yakima. The Pirates outscored the Bombers 13-7 in the fourth quarter, as Wayne Hinkley hit a pair of short jumpers over the final 3:18 to give Davis a five-point cushion. Richland had a chance to tie the game in the final 20 seconds, but Pat Hoke missed a 10-footer and Steve Davis missed the follow.
