Folks looking for a fun time in the snow should consider a guided snowshoe walk at Hurricane Ridge.

Rangers at Olympic National Park lead the outing from 2-3:30 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday during the winter. A $5 donation is requested for use of snowshoes.

The moderately strenuous walk explores the mountain environment. People who want to join the walk should sign up a 1/2 hour in advance at the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center.

Vehicles traveling to Hurricane Ridge in the winter must carry tire chains. Be prepared for winter driving conditions. For road conditions, call 360-565-3131 or go to nps.gov/olym.
