Northwest Christian’s Kami Bates had a special night as she scored a game-high 28 points and – according to coach Ron Collins – became the first girls basketball player with 1,000 career points scored for the Navigators. The Navigators went on to win, 46-38, over Naselle. Bates came into the game with 988 points, and she scored 15 in the first quarter to surpass the 1,000-point mark.

In wrestling, North Thurston wrestling secured a 57-24 home win over 2A Evergreen Conference rival River Ridge. North Thurston’s Dallin Carlson pinned Cortney Henderson in 14 seconds. River Ridge’s Jacob Zocco pinned North Thurston’s Ocean Wadleigh in 1:07.

In girls basketball, the combined offensive attack of Elyssa Quichocho (14 points) and Ciara Williams (13 points) helped spark North Thurston’s 51-32 road win over Tumwater. The Thunderbirds’ Carly McIsaac led all scorers with 17 points.
