Williams, who served three terms in the House and was known for his support for labor and progressive causes, has a record of raising large sums for his campaigns. He plans a kickoff event from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Mercato Restaurant across from the Olympia Farmers Market.
Williams announcement says hes already picked up endorsements from the Washington State Patrol Troopers Association and from firefighters in Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater.
UPDATE: Williams hasn't reported any fundraising to the state Public Disclosure Commission yet.
UPDATE: Despite several retirements this year, only two candidates have filed to raise money so far.
Local defense lawyer Jim Dixon, who did not specify which judicial seat in his PDC filings, says he is seeking the position Judge Paula Casey is retiring from.
Judge Lisa Sutton is seeking re-election to Position 5.
