Pedestrian struck, taken to hospital with minor injuries

A pedestrian crossing Fourth Avenue East near Fir Street Southeast was hit by a vehicle about 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Olympia police said.

“At this stage of the investigation, it appears the driver was not at fault,” Sgt. Paul Johnson said.

The woman, whose name and age were not released, was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia with minor injuries, Johnson said.

A portion of Fourth Avenue was closed for about 45 minutes while emergency crews were on the scene.
