The need for Thurston County's six storm debris drop-off sites has declined, leading some early closures.

Four of the sites will close at 4 p.m. Feb. 19 instead of the end of the month as planned. The sites closing early include:

• The Griffin Athletic Field parking lots, 6924 41st Ave. N.W.

• The front entrance parking lot of Burfoot Park, 6927 Boston Harbor Road N.E.

• The ball field parking lot of Kenneydell Park, 6745 Fairview Road

• The vacant lot behind Rainier Market at the corner of Minnesota and Rochester Streets.

The other two drop-off sites will continue to take storm-related debris through 5 p.m. Feb. 29. They include:

• Waste and Recovery Center, 2418 Hogum Bay Road N.E.

• Sargent Road Gravel Pit, 16500 Sargent Road S.W.

Anyone with questions can call Thurston County Roads Maintenance at 360-786-5495 or the Waste and Recovery Center at 360-867-2491.
