Nisqually tribe gets $588,000 HUD housing grant

The Nisqually Indian tribe is among 25 tribes in Washington state to receive more than $33 million in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Indian housing block grants.

The Nisqually tribe received $588,626. More than $6 million was awarded to the Yakama tribe in Wapato, followed by more than $3.5 million to the Colville tribe in Nespelem; $2.9 million to the Lummi tribe in Bellingham; and $2.7 million to the Tulalip tribes in Tulalip.
