Olympia extends free storm debris drop-off sites

The City of Olympia has extended its free storm debris drop-off sites for the next two weekends, according to a news release.

Only city residents can use the sites, at 1401 Eastside St. S.E. and the Yauger Park parking lot by DirtWorks, off Alta Drive near Capital Mall Drive.

The sites will be open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and Feb. 25-26.

KENNEWICK -- A household hazardous waste collection event will be Friday and Saturday for all residents of Benton County and its cities at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Kennewick.

Residents can drop off free of charge paints, cleaners, pesticides, herbicides, motor oils, batteries and fluorescent lights.

The collection center in the fairgrounds parking lot just off 10th Avenue will be open at 9 a.m. each day, closing at 3 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday, or until the site reaches full capacity.
