capital clubhouse Offers resources to men and women with mental health issues, and the homeless to help them find jobs, meals, housing and clothing. The Clubhouse needs donations of clean, wearable clothing, tents, tarps, and blankets. Capital Clubhouse is open from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays at 618 Seventh Ave., S.E., Olympia. 9th annual fat tuesdayfeast for seniors Join others who care about seniors by bringing a group out to eat at one of many local restaurants participating on Tuesday. The restaurants all give a percentage of their day’s proceeds to Senior Services for South Sound to serve at-risk, low-income and disabled seniors. Participating restaurants include Bagel Brothers, Brick on Trosper, Budd Bay Cafe, Casa Mia (Olympia and Lacey), Dirty Dave’s Pizza, Iron Rabbit, i.talia, Mercato Ristorante, O’Blarney’s, Pellegrino’s, Ramblin’ Jacks, Ranch House BBQ, Ricardo’s, River’s Edge, and Swing in Thurston County; and Grove Street Brewhouse, Steven’s on Railroad, and Xinh’s Clam & Oyster House in Mason County. books-brownies-beans a one-day benefit offering bargains on used books, CDs, DVDs, video and other games, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday at Olympia Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 2300 East End Ave. There also will be a bistro with coffee, brownies and live entertainment. All proceeds benefit Out of the Woods, which provides emergency food and shelter for homeless families in Thurston County and guides them toward self-sufficiency. “A Really Big Shoe Six” is “A Musical Journey Through the Golden Age of Television (1948-70).” The concert will benefit the approximatly 1,700 homeless children in eight local school districts as well as the thousands served by Community Youth Services. The show begins at 2 p.m. Feb. 26 at The Washington Center for Performing Arts, 512 Washington St. S.E., Olympia. Tickets are $13 and $16. The Power of the purse The Women’s Leadership Council of United Way of Thurston County presents its 3rd annual auction and fundraiser from 5:30-9 p.m. March 3 at Indian Summer Golf & Country Club, 5900 Troon Lane S.E., Olympia.
