Hall of Fame inductees:
Arvie Johnson, Jr. 73: Johnson, of Seattle, Wash., holds the Saint Martins mens basketball record for most rebounds in a single game (29) and most rebounds in a single season (419). A member of the 1972 District I All-Star Team, Johnson finished his Saint Martins career with 733 rebounds and 832 points.
Nate Carlson 04: Carlson was a Division II All-American, Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Champion and Saint Martins record holder in the 1500m. He also claimed conference championships in the mile and distance medley. A seven-time All-Conference selection and nine-time Academic All-Conference selection, Carlson was named the GNAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2005.
Martina Kartikova Herington 05, MBA07: Kartikova, of Olympia, Wash., scored 1,195 points during her three-year career at Saint Martins, becoming the schools ninth all-time scorer in womens basketball. With 656 career rebounds, she is Saint Martins sixth-highest rebounder, and also holds the record for rebounds in a game (21). A GNAC All-Conference selection, Kartikova was a West Region All-American and a First-Team Academic All-American. In 2005, she was named the GNAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Shane Prante 06: A three-time First-Team All-American, Prante, of Olympia, Wash., spent part of his senior year as the top-ranked collegiate player in the country. As a junior, he was the only Division II player named to an eight-member USA team that played in Japan. In 2005, Prante was a Ben Hogan Watch List Finalist.
The Hall of Honor inductees:
Leo Zaddack 69: Zaddack, of Lacey, Wash., served as the assistant mens basketball coach from 1976 to 1985, working under head coaches Len Stevens and Joe Meagher. He helped lead the 198081 team that beat Washington State University and the 198283 team that won its division. Zaddack closed out his Saint Martins career with the womens basketball team, assisting under head coach Ray Peters from 1987 to 1995. In 199495, his final season, the womens team won its division.
Jack Sareault HS 53, 57: A long-time sportswriter for The Tacoma News Tribune, Sareault, of Gig Harbor, Wash., covered college and high school sports from 1963 to July 1986. While attending Saint Martins College, Jack was a four-year athlete on the track and field team, and was co-coach of the Saint Martins High School track and field team. From 1969 through 2002, he was coordinator of the Northwest College Sports Service, and for 28 years, he held the position of NAIA District I sports information director.
