thurston county food bank needs clean, untorn paper grocery sacks. If you can help, drop them off between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mondays-Fridays at 220 Thurston Ave. N.E., Olympia.

capital clubhouse Offers resources to men and women with mental issues and the homeless to help them finding jobs, meals, housing and clothing. It needs donations of clean, wearable clothing, tents, tarps, and blankets. Capital Clubhouse is open from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays at 618 Seventh Ave. S.E., Olympia. Call 360-357-2582 for information on donating money, or support groups that the Clubhouse offers.

“spring into action” luncheon hosted by the YWCA is a fundraiser for two girls programs: Girls Circle and Girls Without Limits. Registration for the luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, with lunch at noon at Indian Summer Golf & Country Club, 5900 Troon Lane S.E., Olympia. Tickets are $35, and can be purchased by calling the YWCA at 360-352-0593.

Kennedy dinner/auction fundraiser hosted by the Thurston County Democrats begins with a cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m. May 11 at the Red Lion Hotel, 2300 Evergreen Park Drive S.W., Olympia. Tickets are $60 in advance, and $75 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online at thurstondemocrats.org/events, or by mail at Thurston County Democrats, P.O. Box 164, Olympia, WA 98507-0164.

Mother’s day breakfast All-you-can-eat Swedish pancakes served with ligonberry butter or hot strawberry preserves, sausage, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee, from 8 a.m.- noon May 13 at Ford’s Prairie Grange, 2640 Reynolds Ave. W., Centralia. Cost is $6. Proceeds support two scholarships, maintenance of the hall, and other community projects.
