Build the club despite protests

Boys & Girls Club is for “at risk” youth? Really? If you told my parents that they would croak. Growing up, I was constantly at the club in South Tacoma playing basketball and I have fond memories of bubbles floating out of the ceiling to the song Danke Schoen. (I was too young yet for mind altering drugs so I know this was real.)

Listen folks, if you live in the city and in a highly populated area, you must accept change, and growth. Why does this city continue to cave to a handful of people when hundreds of families would benefit from the location and services.

I bet if we started describing the club as a club for “Mensa” youth there wouldn’t be an issue.

Build it – they will come. And quite frankly, the others can go.
