Today and Monday

Olympia Chamber Orchestra Auditions: Auditions by appointment throughout summer. Auditions are at 7 p.m. today and Monday at Saint Martin’s University campus, 5300 Pacific Ave. S.E., Lacey. Actively auditioning for permanent positions for second oboe, cellos and basses, and for substitutes for all sections. Rehearsals are Tuesdays at 7 starting the first week of September and continuing into the first week of June. Call 360-491-4700 to schedule an audition.

Business Tax Workshop: The Tumwater office of the Washington State Department of Revenue is hosting a free workshop for new and small-business owners, 9 a.m.-noon, Department of Revenue, 6300 Linderson Way, Tumwater, Training Room 123. Participants will learn about Washington excise taxes, reporting classifications, deductions, tax incentives, sales tax collection, and recordkeeping requirements. Call 800-647-7706.

Dinner theater presented by The Readers Theater Unlimited of Thurston County: Together with Veterans and Families for the Cure – Relay for Life Cancer Team will present a dinner theater, kicking off with dinner at 5 p.m. and four short plays at 6 p.m. at the VFW Hall No. 318, 2902 Martin Way E. Cost is $10 per person. Proceeds will go to the Senior Services for South Sound and the Relay team for the June 29-30 cancer event at Timberline High School. Republican Roundup Picnic Fundraiser: Bring the family or a friend to a silent auction fundraiser for Thurston County Mainstream Republicans, 3 p.m., Tumwater Historical Park, 777 Simmons Lane S.W. Cost is $20 each, $30 per couple, $35 per family. Call 360-456-2992 to reserve a spot.

Oly Rollers Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby: Cosa Nostra Donnas face off against Naptown Roller Girls; Oly Rollers meet JBLM Bettie Brigade, beginning at 6 p.m., Skateland, 1200 South Bay Road, Olympia. Garage sale fundraiser: General Federation of Women’s Clubs’ Capital Woman’s Club will hold a fundraising garage sale from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at 7920 Fairview Road S.W., Olympia. Proceeds go to local charities.
