Basketball: Black Hills girls coach Robin Johnson steps down; JV coach Tanya Greenfield takes over program

• Published June 28, 2012

Tayna Greenfield, who has been a Black Hills JV/assistant girls basketball coach the past two seasons, has been named the Wolves' girls varsity coach. She replaces Robin Johnson, who served as head coach since 2007. Black Hills was Johnson's first head coaching position; she previously was an assistant coach under Paul Dretsch following her collegiate playing days as a point guard at Saint Martin's.

Greenfield is a Bellingham native and a former Saint Martin's post player. Prior to Black Hills, she was a JV/assistant girls coach at Chelan and also was a Chelan city council member. Black Hills has now replaced both its girls and boys basketball coaches in the past month. Earlier in June, Jeff Gallagher replaced Jamie Berg as Black Hills’ boys coach.
