DUSTI DEMARESTTONIGHT -- A shared meal: The fourth annual TABLE FOR OLYMPIA -- which is essentially a community picnic and block party that takes over Washington Street downtown with 30 tables end to end -- invites the city to dine together, and enjoy entertainment and childrens activities. The fun begins at 4 p.m. today and stretches to 8 p.m. in the 100 block of Washington Street. Admission is free, but you should bring your own silverware, plates, cups and food to eat and share. For more information, go to www.everydayolympia.com or www.tableforolympia.com.TONIGHT -- Going a little batty: Bat researcher Greg Falxa will be leading a BAT WALK AT CAPITOL LAKE starting at 9 tonight. (A great way to walk off all the food you ate at Table for Olympia!) Falxa does a couple of these walks each summer, and sometimes they draw more than 100 people. Participants should meet on the sidewalk in front of Marathon Park on Deschutes Parkway, and plan to be walking about an hour on the sidewalk from Marathon Park to the Fifth Avenue dam. Falxa says he's been studying bats in this area for 10 years, and he'll talk a bit about local bats, answer questions, and show folks how and where to watch the bats arriving at the lake from distant colonies. The walk is free, and you don't have to pre-register.
