Tumwater will convert to grade 6-8 middle school system

Lisa Pemberton, staff writer

The Tumwater School Board recently voted to convert to a grade 6-8 middle school system.

Upgrades will need to be made to facilities before the transition can occur; district officials believe the new system could be in place as early as the 2015-16 school year.

The district is looking for parents and community members who would like to serve on a planning committee to help develop the new grade 6-8 program model. To apply, send a note of interest with contact information, to Kim Howard, Communications Coordinator, at kim.howard@tuwmater.k12.wa.us or 621 Linwood Ave. S.W., Tumwater, Wash. 98512.
