“Driving instructors are a dedicated group who truly care about saving lives and preventing needless tragedy by helping young people learn how to drive safely,” said David Reich, a spokesman for the National Road Safety Foundation. “The winners we are honoring are the best of the best.”
Apple has taught driver education for 40 years.
In addition to teaching at Shelton, he also trains teachers through Educational Service District 113 in Tumwater. He has degrees from Western Washington University, and has taught English and history, as well.
