Jenny Craig, an educational assistant at Grand Mound Elementary School, died Tuesday while hiking near Mount Rainier, according to the Rochester School District.
A cause of death is unknown at this time, however it is believed to have been heart related, officials said.
A special announcement posted on the district’s web site reads, “Jenny was an outstanding employee who positively impacted the lives of thousands of students over her 14 years with the district. We will miss her deeply."
Funeral details have not yet been announced.
