North Thurston School Board adopts $127.4 million budget
Lisa Pemberton, staff writerNorth Thurston School Board unanimously adopted a $127.4 million budget for the 2012-13 school year on Tuesday night. The budget package is about $3 million higher than last year due to increases in employee health care costs, fuel, utilities and special education, according to district spokeswoman Courtney Schrieve. Instead of program cuts, district officials are using about $900,000 in reserve funds to keep the books balanced.
