Washington seniors surpass national average on exam
Lisa Pemberton, staff writerWashingtons 12th-graders outscored the national average on the ACT exam during the 2011-12 school year, the state Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction reported today. The states average composite score was 22.9, compared to a national average composite score of 21.1. Students in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, New Jersey and New York scored higher on the test. To view a list of the results, go to www.act.org/newsroom.
