TODAY-SUNDAY -- A little sand between your toes: The Hands On Children’s Museum is hosting its annual sand-sculpture competition and beach party SAND IN THE CITY with master sand sculptors, entertainment and interactive activities for children – all at the museum’s new location off East Bay. Teams are building sand sculptures, and there’ll be a selection of family activities until 4 p.m. today. The beach party happens from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, which is Grandparents Day. As always, admission is free, with a $5-per-family donation suggested. TODAY-SUNDAY -- This festival stinks: That pungent bulb with many health benefits will be the star of the show at the CHEHALIS GARLIC FESTIVAL starting today. There will be food, live entertainment, chef demonstrations, workshops and all kinds of fun. The festival is at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds, 255 N. National Ave., Chehalis. Hours are noon-8 p.m. today, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Lewis’ comedy "THE AMERICANS ACROSS THE STREET" about a prize-winning author who spends his days on his porch, railing against the state of the nation. He has had a string of solo hits, including “Life’s Been Good” and “In The City.” He’s also a prolific session musician who has played with the likes of B.B. King and Dan Fogelberg.
