Olympia School Board to review, consider complaints on Capital High coach ordeal
Lisa Pemberton, staff writerThe Olympia School Board will review and consider citizen complaints about the district's decision to not renew Capital High School head boys basketball coach Doug Galloways contract amid an investigation of forced sexual contact between students at a summer basketball camp at Western Washington University.Today, the Olympia School District posted this on Facebook: "As a result of a number of formal citizen complaints the District has received in regards to the CHS Basketball team and Coach Galloway, the next step in the process is to have the Olympia School Board review and consider the complaints that have been shared with the District. The School Board will review these complaints in executive session because it involves a personnel decision. The executive session will either be held before or after next Mondays School Board meeting which is at 6:30 p.m. at the Districts Knox Administrative Center. When the board is done reviewing the information, it will make its decision."To read more about a parent-led campaign to get the coach reinstated, click here.
