Dallas Cowboys rookie safety and Tumwater native Matt Johnson won't travel with the team for Sunday's game in Seattle, as he continues to rehab his hamstring injury, the Dallas Cowboys public relations staff said Wednesday afternoon.

Sunday's game between the Seahawks (0-1) and Cowboys (1-0) is scheduled for 1 p.m. at CenturyLink Field.

Johnson, a 2007 Tumwater High School graduate, has been dealing with hamstring injuries in recent weeks. He missed most of Dallas' training camp because a left hamstring injury, and injured his right hamstring during a preseason game against St. Louis. He did not return in that game.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Johnson was also forced to miss organized team activities (OTAs) because of classes at Eastern Washington University. He was a fourth-round draft pick by Dallas in April's NFL Draft.

A bicep injury prematurely ended Johnson's collegiate career at Eastern. He finished his career with 17 interceptions and 341 tackles in 45 games played. During Johnson's senior season of football at Tumwater in 2006, he earned second-team all-2A EvCo honors at defensive back despite missing five games with an injury.
