Tenino native/W.F. West junior Nike McClure verbally commits to Washington State for womens basketball
Nike McClure, a 6-foot junior post, gave a verbal commitment to the Washington State womens basketball program over the weekend.McClure spent her first two years of high school at Tenino and recently transferred to W.F. West in Chehalis.As a sophomore at Tenino last season, McClure had a breakout season. She averaged 14 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks per game, leading the Beavers to the 1A state regional tournament and a second-place finish in the 1A Southwest Washington Evergreen Division. In a 53-41 win over Rochester on Jan. 6, McClure had 23 points, 26 rebounds and 18 (yes, 18) blocks. She was a member of The Olympians 2011-12 girls basketball all-area second team.
On the WSU womens basketball roster is Elmas Brandi Thomas, a junior who was a two-time 2A EvCo MVP in 2008-09 and 09-10.
