LACEY: Volunteers needed

North Thurston Public Schools is looking for community representatives to serve on its Instructional Materials Committee.

The committee meets six times a year, or more if necessary, and evaluates and recommends instructional materials such as textbooks, films, computer programs and novels that will be used in the district’s schools.

Applicants must live in the district and have a child attending a district elementary school or high school.

Those interested should submit a letter of application to superintendent Raj Manhas by Oct. 3.
