What the Steelheads and Stampede are doing to raise breast cancer awareness

IDAHO STEELHEADS, ECHL hockey team

• What: Pink in the Rink, in association with St. Luke’s Mountain States Tumor Institute. The Pink in the Rink jersey auction games are Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, in CenturyLink Arena, against the Colorado Eagles.

• How to get involved: Players will wear pink jerseys, pictured above, during the two games, with 100 percent of all proceeds benefitting MSTI. Fans can bid for the jerseys during the weekend auction and walk away with them after the games. Information will be available on the arena concourse during the two games.

• Season opener: vs. Utah Grizzlies, Oct. 12, CenturyLink Arena

IDAHO STAMPEDE,NBA Development League basketball team

• What: Second annual St. Luke’s MSTI Real Men Wear Pink Nights. The two games are Feb. 1-2, in CenturyLink Arena, against the Los Angeles D-Fenders.

• How to get involved: Players will wear pink jerseys, similar to what they wore last season, pictured above, to raise awareness for the need of mammograms. The Stampede will launch a campaign later this month in which people will be able to donate $35 to have a name of a survivor, loved one, or lost loved one woven into the fabric of the pink Stampede jerseys. In addition, fans will be able to bid on those jerseys through a silent auction at the games or online at auctionfrogs.com.
