Rolf Boone/The Business Blog

The U.S. Postal Service is hiring temporary employees for the holiday mailing season to work at its mail processing facilities throughout Washington state.

Mail-handler positions are available at processing facilities in Olympia, Tacoma, Everett, Seattle, Wenatchee, Yakima, Pasco and Spokane. Positions also are available at the Seattle Christmas facility near Sea-Tac; the priority mail annex in Kent; the network distribution center in Federal Way.

The temporary jobs pay $11 per hour and do not include benefits. Applicants must be at least 18 at the time of hire or 16 with a high school diploma, according to the Postal Service. Applicants also must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent alien status.
